Journey Intelligence, explained: what the scores actually mean

Journey Intelligence exists to answer one question honestly: is this a reasonable time and place to be travelling? Chronalio scores measurable conditions instead of guessing.

Where the numbers come from

• Weather comes from Open-Meteo for the resolved destination and time of travel.
• Nearby help — hospitals, police posts — comes from OpenStreetMap data around your route.
• Night-travel scoring reflects the time of day relative to your journey window.
• Network context reflects conditions we can reasonably infer for the route, not a live carrier feed.

What happens when a place isn’t found

If AI Quick Start or the search box can’t resolve a destination, Chronalio says so directly. It does not silently substitute a placeholder score or invent a dashboard. You can still start a Journey — the Intelligence panel just won’t claim certainty it doesn’t have.

Why this matters

A safety score you can’t trust is worse than no score at all. Being explicit about the limits of Journey Intelligence is part of how Chronalio stays credible in exactly the moments it needs to be believed.
